AI Menu Import & Translation

Import a menu photo or PDF instead of retyping every dish. Review the draft, confirm the import and let MenuSnap prepare missing translations in the background. Choose the languages your restaurant offers, then check names, descriptions and options before using the menu with guests.

From your source menu to the guest’s phone

  1. Prepare a readable source

Use a clear supported image or PDF in the menu import screen. Make prices, headings and options readable, and keep the original available for comparison.

  2. Review the imported draft

Check categories, names, prices and choices before confirming publication. Resolve duplicate or incomplete items, and verify any zero-price item against the original menu.

  3. Review the menu languages

After you confirm the reviewed import, missing translations are prepared asynchronously. Check processing results and the languages enabled for guests. Review dish names, descriptions and options; verify ingredients and allergens against the restaurant’s own records.

  4. Check and maintain the guest view

Open the actual restaurant menu on a phone. Review enabled languages and options, then recheck affected translations when the source menu changes.

What to check before processing a large menu

Compare all plans
  • 31 language options. Your restaurant checks translations, allergens and image accuracy. Processing and AI allowances depend on the task and plan.
  • Translation and related text-generation tasks share an allowance. Check how usage is counted and the remaining balance in your account before processing a large menu.
  • The menu import screen supports images and PDFs. Use the formats accepted by the current screen.
  • Importing content, generating translations and optimising images are different tasks. Their availability and usage depend on the plan and account balance.
  • Language support does not mean every dish already has reviewed translations. Missing content may fall back to the restaurant’s default language; verify the actual guest menu.
  • No fixed setup time applies to every restaurant. Large menus, complex options, translation review, payments and printer configuration can need additional work.

Before you start, you may want to know.

Does importing a menu configure my POS, printer and payments?

No. Menu preparation is one part of setup. Devices, staff access, kitchen routing and payment accounts need separate configuration and checks.

Can I rely on AI to supply missing ingredients or allergens?

No. Verify those details from the restaurant’s recipes and supplier information. Do not publish a dietary claim just because an AI draft contains it.

Does menu import make every language ready immediately?

No. Review and confirm the imported draft first. Missing translations are processed in the background, and the restaurant controls which languages guests can select. Check completion, fallback content and the remaining AI allowance before enabling a language for service.
