You can keep an existing standalone card terminal and record a confirmed payment in MenuSnap. Recording it does not mean MenuSnap controls the terminal or automatically verifies its payment result.
A standalone terminal has its own payment flow
The terminal and its payment provider authorise the card payment. Staff check that result, then record the correct amount and payment method against the appropriate MenuSnap order or bill.
Check both the amount and the terminal result. Do not record a payment as successful just because a card was presented.
An integration is a different capability
An integrated online payment uses a supported provider and configured restaurant account to exchange payment status. It requires more than displaying a card-payment button.
Stripe is described in the current paid plans. Redsys and Bizum availability must be confirmed for the restaurant’s market and setup; their presence in product settings is not a promise that every account is ready.
Check the full cost and the end-of-day totals
MenuSnap’s 0% order commission refers to the platform’s commission on orders. Your acquiring bank or payment provider may still charge processing, terminal or other agreed fees.
Reconcile the terminal’s confirmed payments with MenuSnap’s recorded payments. Staff-entered records should match the correct order, amount and method; they are not a replacement for provider statements.
Handle an uncertain result carefully
If the terminal result is unclear, check it with the provider before collecting again. A repeated payment can charge the guest twice.
Refunds must follow the relevant payment process. Recording an external refund in MenuSnap does not by itself send money back through an unrelated card terminal. The public demo does not charge cards or issue real refunds.
MenuSnap frequently asked questions
Will every card terminal connect automatically?
No. Keeping a standalone terminal and recording its payments is different from an automatic terminal integration. Confirm a specific integration before relying on it.
Does 0% commission mean card payments are free?
No. MenuSnap does not take an order commission, but the payment provider’s own fees and terms still apply.
