MenuSnap POS shows connection status and catches up on events after reconnecting. Payments, refunds, settlement and shifts require server confirmation. This version does not provide a complete offline ordering and checkout workflow.
Agree what to do if the connection drops
Check the POS connection and complete your setup before service. Agree how staff will handle a connection loss and when they should pause actions that need the server.
Rehearse connection loss and recovery in a platform test environment. The public demo helps you explore the interface; it does not create real orders or validate an outage procedure.
Know which services need a connection
Guest QR ordering, cloud dashboards, remote kitchen updates and online payment status need the relevant network connections.
An independent card terminal follows its own provider and connectivity rules. Confirm the terminal result, then record the payment in MenuSnap when its server connection is available. If a result is unclear, check it before attempting another charge.
Pause actions that need server confirmation
Restore the connection before continuing payments, refunds, settlement or shift actions. Do not assume that orders and sales can be saved locally and uploaded later.
Printing depends on the configured connection and executor. A local network or USB printer connection does not by itself make the order and checkout workflow available offline.
Check state after reconnecting
Keep the POS open as it reconnects and catches up on events. Check the latest order, payment and shift state before repeating an action.
Compare the displayed records with what staff and the payment terminal actually completed. Contact support if a result remains unclear; do not clear application data as a recovery shortcut.
MenuSnap frequently asked questions
Can guests keep ordering by QR without internet?
No. The guest’s phone and the QR ordering service need internet. The current POS also needs server confirmation for payments, refunds, settlement and shifts.
Can I process an online card payment while offline?
No. Online payment needs its provider connection. An independent terminal has its own rules, but recording its confirmed payment in MenuSnap still requires a server connection.
