Define who can use the offer, where, when and how, then check the plan, staff permissions and actual order result. Member identification, coupons, points and rule-based promotions have different conditions; one benefit does not establish support for every other feature.

Describe the benefit clearly

Write one sentence a guest can understand, then record the actual locations, member groups, items, times, expiry and minimum spend. Do not advertise a condition or benefit that is not enabled.

Check your current membership and promotion entitlements. Basic member records do not unlock every advanced benefit, a prepaid wallet or transfers of funds between locations.

Check identity and where the benefit is used

The POS can identify members and handle eligible member coupons and discounts on supported orders. Staff need the relevant permission; review existing benefits and prompts before changing the attached member.

Points operations differ between QR ordering and POS. Guest points use follows enabled rules; a points balance displayed on the POS does not establish the same redemption action. Do not promise identical benefits on every surface.

Check both eligible and ineligible orders

Review the promotion in an appropriate test environment, including benefit details and the amount due. Check an order that fails the rules as well as one that qualifies.

  1. Check an eligible member and an ineligible member.
  2. Check dates, locations and ordering channels.
  3. Check qualifying items and amounts, plus orders that do not qualify.
  4. Review the result with existing discounts instead of assuming every offer combines.

Give staff a short explanation and a checking process

Explain the conditions, where staff can see benefits and who handles exceptions. If an offer is unavailable, check the member, order and rules before considering any authorised adjustment.

After a refund, inspect the actual coupon and points adjustments rather than assuming they are always restored unchanged. Marketing messages also require the relevant consent and channel conditions; membership alone is not permission for all marketing contact.

MenuSnap frequently asked questions

Are points a balance guests can top up or withdraw?

No. These are benefits governed by loyalty rules, not a prepaid wallet, gift card or cross-location funds account.

Can a coupon be used at every location?

Check the membership group, coupon and promotion scope. Sharing a merchant account does not make all offers valid at every location.
